Summer Activities
Guild members have been busy over the summer:
- Guild members have been working hard over the summer preparing for the Quilt Show. There is still time to enter your quilt in the show and purchase your ticket for the Trunk Show. Check the website for announcements and updates.
- Sharon Fraser encouraged Guild members to make promotional pincushions to help promote the Quilt Show and the Guild. Guild members embraced the challenge and made over 800 pin cushions. Thank you to everyone!
- In July, members of the Guild contributed 25 quilts to a successful quilting display at the Queen Victoria Estates. The event was reported in the Regina Leader Post, describing the interest and appreciation of the event participants. Thank you to Myrna Rosebrook who coordinated collecting the quilts and to the guild members who provided them.
- In early August, the Guild maintained a booth at the Queen City Exhibition, providing information and demonstrating quilting. Thank you to Sally Baxter for organizing the booth and coordinating volunteers and to the Northgate Sewing Centre for providing the demonstration sewing machines.
- Guild members sold raffle tickets at the Golden Mile mall on August 19, 20, and 21. The raffle quilt received lots of attention and many raffle tickets were sold. People also picked up information about the Quilt Show, the Guild and took a free pincushion with them. Thank to Sharon Fraser for arranging this. Do you have your raffle ticket(s) yet?
