Introduction

The Prairie Piecemakers Quilters' Guild was formed and incorporated in December 1991 with a focus on preserving and promoting the art of quilting. The Guild meets at 7:30 PM the first Tuesday of the month from September through June in the basement of the Whitmore Park United Church, at the corner of Grant Road and Durham Drive in Regina. Visitors and new members at all levels of quilting are welcome.

Membership

Guild members consists of quilters of varying ages and abilities who share a great appreciation for the art of quilting and the fabric used to piece the quilts together:

  • The membership year runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.
  • New members are welcome at any time during the quilting season.
  • Annual dues are $35.00.
  • The Guild is a member of the Canadian Quilters' Association.

Goals of the Guild

  • To promote public awareness of the art of quilting
  • To encourage and promote higher standards of competence and appreciation of quilting through courses, workshops, research and competitions.
  • To preserve the heritage of quilting through promotion and education.
  • To foster fellowship among quilters.
  • To stimulate closer co-operation and co-ordination among other groups and individuals interested in quilting.
